Joy Bemis wasn’t someone who grew up knowing the she wanted to do makeup for a living, though her mom’s makeup drawer was a constant source of delight. She attended The Ohio State University and received her degree in theatre. College and beyond has been focused on the local music community and delving into her other passion of makeup artistry, which originally started as product obsession. She has fronted bands as a songwriter/singer/bassist (her newest project is The Book Smarts) as well as performing in local theatre productions. Lately she spends her time selling wine for a distributor and then running off to do photoshoots before band practice. She lives in Columbus with her beau and their dog and two cats.
